Marvel has signed a deal to work with Madhouse to provide anime versions of various superheroes. Given the movie buzz around Iron Man and Iron Man anime makes perfect sense. What do you think? Is this intended for Japanese audiences or is has this been designed to look anime but be targeted at American audiences?
Back in August 2008 Marvel entered into a partnership with Madhouse to produce a series of anime-style adaptations of some of their heroes. We’d already seen Gonzo provide an example of what was possible with Witchblade. It’s expected that the anime Wolverine will begin to air in 2010 and run on Animax.
The rather excellent anime action series Gungrave may see life as a live action film. Convergence Entertainment, known for The King of Fights, has secured the rights to the manga.
Variety reports that the film will have a budget between $30 and $35 million and that it will be Asian partners response for raising most of that.
