I confess, I am a little more excited by this prospect than I thought I would be. The Ladykillers, the classic 1955 comedy starring Peter Sellers and Alec “Obi-Wan” Guinness is to be adapted for live theatre!

The original film centres around a group of men who rent rooms in the house of one Mrs Wilberforce, a kindly old lady with a large house close to King’s Cross railway station. The men, led by Alec Guinness’s “Professor” Marcus, convince the old dear that they’re an amateur string group who need the rooms for rehearsal space – in reality they’re planning to rob a security van at the train station and the house is their base of operations and bolt-hole.

It’s a superbly good fun black comedy, and I’d recommend it to anyone. What has me excited, however, is not just the prospect of seeing The Ladykillers live on stage – but that it’s being adapted for the stage by the man who gave us Black Books, Father Ted, and the wonderful The IT Crowd; the brilliant Graham Linehan.

Linehan’s version will be limited to what happens inside the house, so will need a fair bit of creative license, but if anyone can do it, he can.

He’ll be directing an ensemble cast, including Peter Capaldi (The Thick Of It), comedian Ben Miller and James Fleet (Hugo from The Vicar of Dibley) so there’s notable talent both on-stage and behind the scenes.

Sadly the show is currently only scheduled to run at the Liverpool Playhouse from 3-19 November before moving on to the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End the week after. But, given Linehan’s credentials and the names on the billing, I suspect it won’t take too much convincing to take the show on a national tour.

If you thought there were enough rubbish reality shows on our screens already then you would be wrong. Laguna Beach, The Hills, The City and Jersey Shore are all exports from America that have shown us how young adults live through real situation and scenes “created for the views entertainment”.

Recently the UK has jumped on the band wagon with The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea, and now MTV has knocked out Geordie Shore (like Jersey Shore but with chavs).

From the group photo of the “stars” that will be taking part in this show, I’m not too excited to watch it to be honest. They all look awful. The boys all have too many muscles around their necks, and wear t-shirts that practically V down to their belly buttons. And the woman look like middle-aged housewives from the OC, though they’re probably still teenagers, with bad tans and too much chest on show.

They basically look like complete morons, and I’m sure they will be when we watch the show. If we watch it.

So we all hate spoilers right? Well I mean some of us do and they are the sort of people who spend time posting spoilers on the internet just to annoy fans. You know what I hate the most? I hate people who type out the entire plot of a film on Wikipedia. If I ever go on to just see what a film is about after seeing a trailer, I can accidently end up reading the end of the movie when I scan down to see who is starring in it. So annoying.

Another one is people who just come out and talk about films that are still in the cinema, without asking you if you’ve seen them. I knew the end of the Sixth Sense, the Others, Se7en and Fight Club all before I even saw them, thanks to people who can’t keep their mouth shut.

Well it turns out that Steven Moffat (that’s the chief writer at Doctor Who) hates spoilers too, though he just mainly features on Doctor Who spoilers.

Apparently fans who were allowed into sneak previews of this season’s first two episodes promptly decided to hit the internet and type out the entire plot before anyone else got the chance to see it. Not cool right?

If I want to find a spoiler, then I’ll ask for it, but I hate when I find one while innocently browsing. However, it’s not just nerds with nothing better to do that are spoiling Doctor Who for us this season. IMDB has listed characters for an upcoming episode, and it may give away the true identity of the little time lord girl who was lurking about in the first two episodes. I won’t say any more. I wouldn’t want to spoil it for you.

So Doctor Who is back on our screens, and Saturday saw the second part of the series opener that we had been waiting on. Despite rumours, none of the main characters died (well sort off), but then again, maybe that is still to come. I thought the episode was good, if a little confusing, and was definitely enough to keep me hooked for the whole series (which I hear is taking a break at some point to return in the autumn? Yuck!).

However, people are now criticising the show for being too scary and too complex for the younger audience. What you do you think? I mean The Silence were pretty damn terrifying (and I’m 23), but I’ve heard many stories from my parents when they were little about how Doctor Who and the Daleks used to have them hiding behind the sofa. Doctor Who has always been scary to children, but are the new monsters a little too far?

Personally I think they are far less scary than the things that used to scare me as a child (like the skeksis in Dark Crystal or the guy getting run over flat in Who Framed Roger Rabbit). I think it takes a lot more to scare kids these days, and as long as the Doctor is there to scare stuff away, we’ll be fine.

If you’ve had a TV turned on at any time in the past couple of weeks them you’ll know that the Walking Dead started on Channel 5 on Sunday. While it was on FX over here in the UK a few months ago, it has finally made it to terrestrial TV so we can all enjoy it.

The show follows Andrew Lincoln as a small town Sheriff who he wakes up in hospital to find everyone else dead. There are some survivors but most seem to have fallen victim to a zombie curse. The Sheriff is on the hunt for his wife and son, who have gone missing from their home.

I have to say, as someone who loves horror movies; this is incredibly scary, just the right amount of gory and very tense. If you liked 28 Days Later then you will love this.

It’s on every Sunday on Channel 5 at 10pm, so I would catch up on last week’s episode and then prepare to get addicted.

So the new series of Doctor Who is set to hit our screens in the coming weeks and I could not be more excited. While I had a total crush on David Tennant and was very sad to see him go, I think Matt Smith has proved himself amazing as the Doctor. Plus now I get to have a girl crush on Amy Pond, so every cloud eh?

If you haven’t seen the trailer for this season, you can check it out on You Tube, and by the look of it it is definitely worth a watch.

It also looks as though we are finally going to find out who River Song is, and what her relationship with the Doctor is, which should be fun too. I cannot wait. Finally my Saturday nights can be geeky again.

Personally I thought Vanilla Ice should have won.

So Sam Attwater won Dancing on Ice last night, beating off competition from Laura Hamilton (children’s TV presenter) and Chloe Madeley (Richard and Judy’s daughter). Sam used to be in Eastenders’ as a pretty boy who liked getting teenagers pregnant, but that didn’t stop him claiming the top spot.

I’ve never watched Dancing on Ice before this year, but it did seem to be a little bit harder than the rest of those sorts of talent shows. Thing like Strictly Come Dancing can’t really complete with the level of skill needed to do something like ice skating and spinning someone round your head while making sure you don’t smash them into the ice.

However, Laura claimed perfect tens in one of her dance routines so should she have been the real winner?

I dislike shows like this where it’s half down to the public and half down to judges, because half the time the public make the wrong decision. That’s why people like Wagner were in the X Factor for so long.

While Sam was obviously good at what he was doing, I disliked his attitude some week and his fake romance with his partner. It just all seemed a little fake, even though he could obviously dance.

So what do you think? Should Sam have won last night?

If you haven’t been following the life of Charlie Sheen in recent weeks, I hate to say it, but where have you been? He’s been all over the place, literally talking to anyone who will listen to him and tweeting the same rubbish to his thousands of followers on Twitter.

However, things took an even worse turn for Mr Sheen today as he was fired from his sitcom Two and a Half Men. Sheen was the highest paid actor on TV, so I’m sure losing that money is going to be a blow to his bank account.

However, Mr Sheen doesn’t seem to care. He was pictured today on top of a building, swinging a sword and drinking a bottle labelled tiger blood. Lovely.

While the show’s producers are unsure if Two and Half Men has been cancelled completely, it is clear they’re going to have to re-work the storyline a little if they plan to continue without one of the lead characters.

Having frequently blogged about my appalling taste in TV programs I have felt the need to inform all you lovely readers about my latest fascination – Channel 4’s The Model Agency. Premier Model Management have opened their doors to Channel 4 for a seven-part fly on the wall series. The program gives an insight into the austere world of fashion models.

This program isn’t for everyone and I think you have to have an active interest in the mad fashion world to be at all intrigued. Some of the reviews for this show have already been pretty bad. What the show doesn’t do is sugar coat the industry. It clearly shows that the industry is a brutal bitchy world and not particularly glam. Founder of the agency Carole describes how rare it is to find a girl that will hit the big time and be a really successful super model. You have to be uber thin, super young and ridiculously tall but not too tall. This is where most of the criticism of the show comes from and how endless girls walk in the agency to be told they aren’t right. It’s an industry that is looking for a very specific product and not many people fit the description, if you can’t take it don’t get involved.

‘The Model Agency’ is one of those reality shows that nothing really happens and appears to definitely not be scripted unlike MTV’s ‘The Hills’, it actually felt quite real which is a nice change. I very much doubt it’s going to win awards or even be commissioned for a second series but I like it. It’s cool and there are cute dogs. If you fancy a watch it’s on Channel 4, Tuesday nights at 10pm.
